I like to write science fiction because it allows me to speculate on a possible future and the problems society may face in that possible reality. I don’t try and predict the future but rather point out where technology or human behavior may run amok.
George Orwell’s science fiction classic, 1984, wasn’t a failure because the future it predicted failed to happen. Instead, it was a total success because it helped us prevent that future.
